You know what Houston needs? A fourth downtown. We have the actual downtown area, and of course the Medical Center (with towering hospitals and clinics). We also have the Galleria with the most office space in the city…why wouldn’t we make another mini downtown? Greenway Plaza located between Downtown and the Galleria fills that need - once a no-man’s land between Upper Kirby and the Galleria, it has developed into a standalone neighborhood.
Greenway Plaza is a bustling area located off 59 and Buffalo Speedway with several walkable apartment properties. Due to all of the great amenities and modern Inner Loop apartment choices, Greenway Plaza has become popular with young professionals who work in the area. Close to River Oaks, Rice Village, Galleria, and Upper Kirby, this is a central neighborhood for those who enjoy the “fun” side of the Inner Loop. Peppered with shops, wine bars (must try the wine and tapas at Oporto), and coffee bars (Dunn Bros is life-changing) Greenway Plaza packs a lot of punch in a small radius.
Apartments and condos have sprung up recently with the demand for the area. New properties showcase elegant finishes (granite counters, wood floors) with first class amenities (fitness centers and resort-style pools). A little less expensive than its Upper Kirby counterpart, many of the professionals working in the offices in Greenway Plaza can walk to and from work.
